ALLWYN Cyprus. Lefkaritiko Embroidery - Keeping a Craft Visible

Lefkaritiko embroidery is one of Cyprus’ most treasured cultural traditions, rooted in the history of Lefkara and passed from generation to generation for centuries.
But today, the number of people who still practice the craft is slowly declining.

Together with ALLWYN Cyprus, we created an awareness initiative to bring visibility to this decline and highlight the need to keep the craft culturally relevant today.

At the heart of the initiative is a film that focuses on the people who still practice Lefkaritiko embroidery, making visible both the beauty of the craft and the reality it faces today. Through the streets of Lefkara and the hands of the women who continue it, the story brings forward a tradition that risks fading quietly.

By bringing attention to the craft in the present, the initiative aims to help keep Lefkaritiko visible, valued and part of today’s cultural conversation.

And for Lefkaritiko embroidery, the thread continues with those who choose to carry it forward.

This won’t be the final stitch.
